Lockdown Procedures
Blessed Sacrament School Safety Procedures
Blessed Sacrament school regularly review policies regarding the lockdown of premises and emergency evacuation.
Lockdown procedures may be activated in response to a number of situations including the following:
- A reported incident in the local community
- An intruder on the school site
- A warning received by the school regarding a risk locally
- A major fire in the vicinity
In addition to lockdown, it is important that the school is able to implement total evacuation of the premises in an emergency. The school when required, holds practice drills of its fire evacuation, lockdown and total evacuation (to Edward Square). The children have been prepared for the drills during assembly and have been reassured that the drills are important in order to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
We hope that you feel reassured by the fact that the school takes precautionary and proactive measures to keep the children safe at school.
