Anti-Bullying Conference

Our student council team attended a brilliant Anti-Bullying conference today, at the Hornsey Youth Hub. The event was centred around this year's theme 'Reach Out', and was introduced by the Mayor of Islington. They took part in debating sessions about Online and Racist bullying, and gender stereotyping. They also discussed the impact of bullying on mental health and wellbeing, and how they can support the school to tackle bullying, in its many forms, and sharing good practice.

Each school then shared their creative presentation. Our student council decided to write their own poem to perform:

'Reach Out'

It's time we make a change

because what we're doing is strange.

Bullying is bad

it's making people feel sad.

Time is running out,

so let's start reaching out!

It should stop, it really is terrible,

it only make people feel horrible.

It is ridiculous, it should stop today.

Let's make a difference in every way.

Let's start by reaching out!

Let's make people feel comforted,

even if they're different.

It doesn't matter who they are,

we're all children of God.

Let's start reaching out!

Let's reach out to the light,

so everyone can shine bright.

Everyone's different.

Let's celebrate by reaching out!
