• Get Islington Reading with Tamzin Merchant

  The pupils in St Martin and St Anthony Class took part in a very special digital author event featuring children's writer Tamzin Merchant, author of The Hatmakers, and her upcoming title The Mapmakers coming out in February. Tamzin is an Islington local, so we were delighted to take part in this event as part of Get Islington Reading. Actress and author Tamzin Merchant introduced the pupils to the magical worlds of The Hatmakers and The Mapmakers. They discovered Tamzin’s inspirations behind her books, met Cordelia and her hatmaking family and took part in creating and then wearing their own magical hats. Asking the question - What magical powers does it have and where will it take you?
