    Fri 21 Oct 2022

St Martin's class took part in a Black History workshop led by Arsenal in the Community coaches. It was Arsenal's history with prominent black football players. The movement started in 2009 where Black players started joining Arsenal, and the pupils learned about they contribution to the club. The pupils were invited to draw portraits of well-known black Arsenal players. The children also shared who their black heroes are and why.
“Our Black History workshops will focus on how our community has changed through history and celebrating black role models and pioneers at Arsenal.

This year’s Black History Month is more important than ever. It’s not just a month to celebrate the continued achievements and contributions of Black people to the UK and around the world. It’s also a time for to ensure Black history is represented and celebrated all year round.”
